"So, doing the pony rides, huh? Any chance we could talk you into doing the Robin Hood-esque costume again? It was really quite special- I think the kids would like it," Stephen said, trying to keep a straight face.

Michael glanced at the clock and took one last look around the office. It was actually clear of clutter for once, the imminent arrival of someone from outside of Palace making it worthwhile to bring in the flamethrower and polish the place up. Hugh had brought up some sandwiches and such, and knew to show Jon and Mr. Dorff in as soon as they arrived. Which should be any minute now. He nodded to himself and grabbed the folder with his carnival notes, and sat down on the sofa to wait. Read more... )

Guy held the door open for Jon to get through with his overnight bag. The 'smart' glasses were good, but the shades of black and white they gave him were a little off and so Jon was a bit disoriented, though not too badly. Still, he was grateful for a chance to sit down, while Guy's promise of a 'cup of something and some cookies at his' was a minor godsend. With his bag safely stowed down beside his chair, Jon turned his head and looked at Guy over the top of his glasses, the myriad colors that blazed before his eyes almost blinding him. "I'm so happy to be home." he grinned. "Hospitals suck!"

Jon woke up but it was still dark. He blinked and opened his eyes but it made no difference, there was still no light. Momentarily disoriented, he heard the soft voice at the same time he realized there was something covering his eyes.

The Offer

The chapel was a nice quiet, if not a tad dusty, place to work and Jon did not think the Lord would mind, especially as he was presently busy arranging the list of sponsors of the carnival, which was charity, into some sort of order. He hummed as he worked, snatches of hymns and songs he'd heard on the music channel, steadily making his way down the extensive list and transferring the names to the list on his com.

Michael,

This is proving to be far easier than I had anticipated, I must say. Much of the structuring for bringing together all the needed components for a successful carnival is contained in the folders HRH gave to me and I am following it, may I say, religiously. [A small joke]

The permits arrived today and all is well there. In addition I have been through the list of Palace-associates and some of the emails I sent out have already been answered in the affirmative. How is the list of preferred clientele coming along?

All the responses so far indicate great excitement and a lot of enthusiasm and I was forced to contact Billy down in the basement area prematurely, as donations of goods has started long before I thought it would. He has kindly set aside an empty storage room for us.

The Carnival Workers Association got back to me and the dates I proposed are fine with them. Set up of the rides over in the Royal Park will commence on schedule, three days prior to our date and, weather permitting, will be finished in plenty of time.

Security is also coming together, despite a fair amount of grumbling. Mr. Sutherland has been given the job of co-ordination, so if you have anything you need to talk to them about, he's the man to contact. He told me this morning that they have ordered seven more Insta-scans which will be installed on each entrance and exit, the flow of foot traffic around the grounds ensuring that all carnival guests will pass through the scanners multiple times. Can't be too careful.

That's all for this report. I'm hoping to get busy on creating an electronic sign-up sheet for staff and residents in the next few days and I'll be sure to let you know before I post it.

your servant,
Jon.

Jon was nervous. No, Jon was awestruck and nervous, palms sweating, the hair on the back of his neck standing to attention and his pupils highly dilated. He knew this because he could see his reflection in the polish on the desk as he addressed himself to the man behind it.Read more... )

[Directly follows The Virgin Diaries- Part Four.]

Guy groaned, scrunching his face up as the light shining through the window onto him pulled him out of sleep. I was having such a good dream...Jude and I fucked Jon, and things were all better again, and that talking cat in a cage finally stopped sassing me... he complained to himself as he rolled over, his eyes opening slowly, then going suddenly wide, a smile breaking over his face. *Guess two out of three 's not too bad.* )
