Jon was in no particular hurry to be anywhere. Classes were done for the day and he was heading back to his room but taking his time about it and enjoying the stroll. He turned into the corridor that would lead him to West access and spotted a familiar blond head not too far in front of him. With a growing smile, he picked up his pace and called out, "Jude! Jude! Wait up!"
Jude heard the voice call after him and turned round, smiling as he realized it was Jon calling after him. "Hey" he said warmly, as Jon walked up to him, "haven't seen you in ages. You ok?"
Jon simply beamed. "I am." he told him, holding his arms out away from his body and twirling. "See? I am sartorially repaired." He grinned and darted in close, stealing a kiss on the cheek.
"So I see," Jude grinned, "you look great." And he did. Really. Jude was shocked at the transformation. Instead of the usual array of flowery shirts thrown together with checked pants, he was wearing charcoal grey pants and an icy blue shirt. "Come here and give me a hug, then tell me who helped you sort your dress sense out." He knew Jon must have had help, there was no way he could have done this alone.
Jon slid gracefully into Jude's embrace and hugged him tight. It really was so nice to see him and it only served to make him aware of how much he'd missed him. Leaning back a little but staying close he said quietly, "Guy did it. I'm colorblind you see. And I never thought to say anything about it. It never mattered before." He tilted his head to one side, observing Jude's reaction to the mention of Guy's name. "He told me." he said. "That you weren't speaking."
Jude winced at the mention of Guy's name, and frowned even harder when Jon let out that he knew all about their fight. He knew Jon was observing him, but he couldn't keep the emotion off his face. "Wish I could have been there to help," Jude tried to smile but it fell flat, "But you know, me and Guy and everything. It just wouldn't work, us being in the same space I mean."
Jon sighed and looked wistful. "I know. It's awful." He looked up at Jude from beneath his lashes. "Not just because you're such good friends usually and everything but because I wanted, was hoping that . . . oh, never mind. No help for it now, I suppose. I'll just have to . . ." he shrugged, slender shoulders rising and falling under the blue silk of his shirt.
"What?" Jude wanted to kiss Jon when he acted like this, he loved that the shy, not quite sure of himself Jon came out on occasion. "You can tell me you know, I might not like it but I'll listen." I'd even listen to Guy if he wanted to speak to me, Jude thought to himself, Might not agree, but i'd give him the chance to speak.
"I wanted both of you." Jon explained hesitantly, blushing furiously. His confidence when around Guy had risen, but with others, even Jude, he was still a bit shy. "My virgi . . . when I . . Well, when it goes, you know? I asked Guy and he said yes and then I was going to . . . but now you and he aren't talking and it's all ruined!" he finished his garbled explanation, panting a little. "But it doesn't matter." he added sadly.
Oh. Not what Jude was expecting Jon to say. At all. "You know..." Jude stopped, unsure if he was ready for what he was about to say. He took a deep breath and carried on. "I'm a professional. If it was what you wanted... I. I would do it, and I bet Guy would too. You're our friend."
Jon's eyes widened, filled with sudden hope. "You would? For me?" Tears sparkled and he flung himself suddenly back into Jude's arms. "Oh, I'm sure he will. Oh, thank you! I . . . don't know what to say." he finished, planting kiss after fervent kiss on every exposed bit of flesh his lips encountered.
"Course," Jude grinned, pulling Jon away from his neck and kissing him lightly on the lips. "Me and Guy had been fighting over who'd get to sleep with you. We've both wanted this for ages... It'll be nice." Jude's voice cracked as he spoke about their 'rivalry,' his face downcast as he remembered the silliness behind it. Jude plastered his smile back on, "I'd put up with anything to get my hands on this." Jude put his hands on Jon's ass and squeezed lightly. "Mmm..."
"Mmm indeed." Jon purred, leaning into the embrace. His concentration and thought processes were a little . . . scattered by the pleasant touches and he spoke before he remembered Guy's words from the other day. "Have you spoken to him at all?" he asked. "Heard from him?"
"No," Jude sighed, "not since I left. Well I saw him once a few days ago, but that was awkward. Apart from that, nothing." Jude frowned, "Why do you ask?"
Jon buried his face in the side of Jude's throat to hide his surprise. This was very strange! Guy said he'd sent a letter, now Jude was saying he'd not received it! Unwilling to give voice to it in case he was wrong, he prevaricated, still hiding his face because he really wasn't very good at lying. "I was just hoping, I suppose." he told him. "You seem sad about it and so does Guy. But, it's not my business." he added, lifting his head and smiling. "You are both grown-ups, yes? I will talk to Guy about doing this, in fact . . ."
He stepped away and pulled out his com unit. "Guy gave me his schedule so I could work it out. Show me yours." Jude dutifully punched up his appointments and they compared notes, finally working out a time and day that suited all parties. Jon gave a satisfied nod as he put his com away. "My room." He said in definite tones. "Alright? I'll . . . well, I'll sort something out."
"That's..." well not great exactly, Jude thought, but something... "That'll be fine," he answered, nodding in agreement. "See you there then?"
"I look forward to it." Jon pasted a bright smile on his face, one that wasn't entirely false. But these two men, his two best friends were being stubborn, it was as plain as the nose on his face. And something had gone awry. What it was didn't matter in Jon's estimation, what did matter was that they were both miserable and he was in a position to do something about it! And he would, too!
Guy and Jude had been so good to him, he owed them more than he could ever repay. Perhaps there was some small thing he could do . . . It would bear thinking about. For now though . . . "Don't worry," he reassured Jude with a gentle smile. "I shall do my utmost to make it pleasant for all, yes? After all, is not every day I lose my virginity." he grinned. "Everyone should be comfortable on auspicious occasions."
"Well I'd better be going, clients to see and all that stuff." For a moment Jude looked disappointed, he hadn't seen his friends in what felt like forever, and now that he finally found one of them he had to leave. Hugging Jon tightly he kissed the smaller man's forehead, then breaking away. "See you soon Jon," he said as he moved to leave, "bye."
"Bye." Jon waved as Jude reluctantly wandered off and then set off himself, his mind whirring with implications and thoughts about stubborn men. He could fix this, he knew he could. It was just a matter of how!
